Letter from Kate

November 15, 2003

Dear Sisters,

           For many years, I have watched members enter and exit through the bond of Tau Beta Sigma.  Unfortunately, the time has come for me to be one of those members that exits.  Tonight’s journey has been very taxing on me, and I feel it is time to pass the torch to a more agile individual.  I announce that I am retiring as the mascot of the Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, effective at the end of the night.  My replacement will be Emily Alphalant, whom you will learn more about later in the evening. 

          Enclosed you will find the key to the Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma.  This is the key to everything we hold dear to us in Tau Beta Sigma.  I have guarded this key close to my heart, and I ask that you have Emily do the same. 

          Since the beginning, you have shared with me your unconditional love and loyalty.  I ask that you do the same for all those passing through the bond in the future.  These years as the Alpha Chapter mascot have been the best years of my life.  I will never forget all the good times and how the sisterhood always survived the hard times.  As the song so eloquently states, “Oh Tau Beta Sigma, may we become the best!”
