Letter from Francis and Stella

Dear Prospective Sisters,

    How the time has passed so quickly.  It seems like it was just the other day when Stella and I came to you fro a home and you took us in and made us part of your family.  The years we have spent together have been the best of our lives.  We will never forget all the good times and how the sisterhood always survived the hard times, but as the saying goes, "all good things must come to an end," and it's time for Stella and I to move on.  After a very long and vigorous search we have found a friend to take our place as your constant reminder of what Tau Beta Sigma is all about.  Listen well to her teachings and ask her advice often, for she is wise as well as cunning.  

    Sisters, I would like you to meet Kate McFox.  Kate is the pup of Patrick and Margaret McFox.  She grew up in the small town of Coolaney, Ireland.  Her favorite color is Royal Blue, and her birthday is March 26, 19.....(well, as with many ladies, her age will remain a mystery.)  Kate is a happy, wild mannered girl, but like most Irish she has a frightful temper.  Kate values honesty, hard work, dedication, and compassion in her friends and tries her best to live up to those values herself.  Kate is devoted to the Art of Music, and enjoys most styles and musical forms.  Her preference, however, tends to lean towards the traditional Irish folk melodies.  In fact, she can hardly keep from jumping up and dancing when an Irish folk song begins to play.  Kate has a courageous and adventuresome personality, which in the past has gotten her into a few tight spots, like the time last Spring when Bartholomew Hobbit visited and they got into all that trouble with the...well, we'll just let Kate fill you in on the more interesting details.  

    Stella and I might be retiring but we still expect to be invited to all the major activities and kept informed on the chapter's activities.  Except for an occasional trip to do some sight seeing we are planning to stay right here and enjoy the peace and quiet.  Our thanks go to Bart and Benjamin Hobbit for helping Stella and I locate and bring Kate to Stillwater.  Without their help our task would have taken even longer.

    In closing, Stella and I hope that the Sisters of Alpha Chapter Tau Beta Sigma will share our unconditional love and loyalty with their new-found friend and companion as you have shared it with us over the years.
